The Heart of a Warrior

This book helped clarify many things that were challenging in my relationships with people, and the Father. This book is part of a significant step to finding my heart again, and continuing on the path of redemption. This book is for everyone.

Loved this book! It's shown me all about forgiveness and becoming a beloved son. "Forgiving those who hurt us is the greatest way we can imitate our King. It was, and is, His ultimate expression of love, so, not surprisingly, it's core to our training."

Jesus Christ changed my Life through our partnership in journeying through this book. I believe every man should take the journey. Go through it wholeheartedly and with an open mind otherwise you'll be cheating yourself all there is to offer in this book. Not to scare anyone off, but rather challenge you this book/journey is not for the faint of heart. It is worth it though because there is more.

Honest men will admit that exploring intimacy with God, as a father, counselor, mentor, guide is socially awkward and almost taboo in many circles. Sitting in a pew for an hour a week is rarely a solution to this. Heart of a Warrior is a guidebook for men to not only dismiss the constraints that we have put on ourselves but to actually seek, desire and embrace the love and life that connectedness with our Holy Father brings. A great read for men of all ages.

This book is so encouraging and thought provoking. I am working through it with a group of men right now. It provides us with a strong backdrop for deep reflection and conversation. All of us hsve been challenged to review, strengthen, purge and strive forward as we work out our own salvation. Blessing to you as you read.

The only way I can explain it is to say I had open heart surgery. The book was just the beginning. This is not just another book you read and then move onto the next. Michael and his team at Zoweh have an entire program that helps men find their hearts and help walk them into becoming oriented. This process has changed my life, marriage and relationship with my kids. I have tried it on my won for so many years to come up short every time. This is the real deal. The book is just step one.

This book is a must read to understand the hearts of the men in your life- it has given me a deeper understanding, love, and compassion for my husband and son, as well as an understanding of men in general. It was so good for MY heart, too! Much of what the author, Michael Thompson, shares is awakening and deepening for the feminine heart, too. What a beautiful invitation into journeying with Jesus through the story of my life and identifying what is in the way of that intimacy with Him. Through this book, God spoke to my heart that not only am I worth dying for, I am worth being truly alive! I've never understood the gospel the way I do now!! Why stop at the cross and salvation, when there is so much healing, restoration, redemption, freedom, and LIFE walking with Jesus? I want the abundant LIFE God created me for and Jesus rescued me for! Thank you, Michael, for writing this book!!

Michael Thompson has a way of helping guide a man toward discovering the MORE in that man's life. That Life comes from the source of all Life--Jesus. Michael has found so much of this Life himself that he now offers it in his newest book, The Heart of a Warrior. Any man willing to take a look inside needs to have this book. The message it contains can truly help change the trajectory of a man's life. First, by helping the man find healing from the wounds of his youth and receiving love in this very place. So much love that he "feels" the blessing and love of God the Father. Michael knows through his own experience that he could not grow as a man without the foundational understanding and receiving of being a "Beloved Son." This idea is not something we mentally or intellectually know to be true. It's something we feel, acknowledge and understand with our hearts, and this "settles" us. It provides a peace that passes all understanding. "The Love comes first, and only then, the Sword" is a quote by Thompson, and it is so true. So often, the message in most churches and men's ministries is to "serve." This is a great admonition, but it's putting the cart before the horse. We must soak in the Father's Love and let the Life of Jesus penetrate us to the point where we trust that love fully. Only from that point should we move forward and serve. I personally know many, many men who have served Jesus for much of their lives and yet the do not know how to receive his love or have never really received love. How much better is it to serve from a place of GREAT LOVE. Michael goes on from this foundational knowing of intimacy with the King of the Universe and guides a man into the training he needs to become a full and mature Warrior. Thompson tackles what happens when we get knocked around and lose our way. He also has a brilliant chapter of loving a woman. If you are a husband, a father, or you're a single man looking for continued guidance in your masculine journey, I can think of very few books that fill that void. Fans of Wild at Heart will hear themes reminiscent of Eldredge, but Michael has his own voice, his own stories, and his own experiences that invite a new group of men to find wholeness. This book is a welcome addition to my library and I have shared much of its message with the men in my circles. Pick this book up, read it slowly, share it with your other guy friends. You will all grow in the Art of being a Beloved Son and a Warrior for advancing the Kingdom of Light and Love.

Purchased and read this book in conjunction with a retreat/encounter of the same name through Zoweh Ministries. Attended my first Encounter in 2018, and to say it changed everything is an understatement. I spent 32 years as a non-believer and 16 years as a believer before I recognized God having a direct and personal interest in me, and that He indeed loves me. Your story will be different, but this book will help you discover things about yourself and God you didn’t know. You can’t get anything from it if you don’t read it!
