Product Description

"The Heart of a Warrior delivers a much needed message to men!" - John Eldredge

Men have a glorious and significant role in God’s Larger Story. They also are the target of a special warfare aimed continually and ruthlessly at the center of their being… their masculine hearts. Naivety and ignorance keep many men running in circles while misinformation and poor training keep many more in bondage. Men are wounded, frustrated, angry and being crushed under the weight of criticism and expectations. The attempted solutions of recent years is education; tell men what they are doing wrong and give them a list to memorize. This strategy isn’t working and its time we fall back to an Ancient One. What if we are setting men up for failure rather than helping them be free? Join author and guide, Michael Thompson, as he invites men to a place of training and orientation that will ensure both a settled heart and a fierce courage. A man cannot enter this battle without knowing he is a Beloved Son. After all, that is what the battle is all about!

The most wonderful book study our Men’s group has EVER completed. This brought our group of men so much closer together. So excited to attend the retreat in March.

    Rave reviews from recepient

I started the devotional based on this book on the Bible App, and quickly realized it was intended for men. I loved what I was reading, though, so I purchased the book for my nephew who is serving overseas. Every time I talk to him, he mentions what a tremendous blessing this book has been to him. My husband has read the devotional TWICE. I'm going to purchase it for him, too!

Not like any other book on Biblical Manhood I've ever read - it encourages and equips. Like a breath of fresh air!

Posted by Marki Mark on Oct 27th 2021

I received two free chapters of "The heart of a warrior" Michael gives away on his website, and just downloaded the Kindle version while it was on sale over Father's Day (how appropriate!) All I can say is "WOW"! I've been reading many/most of the recommended "Biblical Manhood" books available out there, including John Eldredge's "Wild at Heart" 15 years ago. And just like John doesn't just give you a "here-is-what-you-are-doing-wrong-now-MAN-UP" speech, Michael in this book goes much deeper than most other authors do. Michael takes you on a journey you can relate with, and is very open and transparent about issues he faced in his own life. While many other authors also do that, he doesn't just stop there: Michael gives you helpful tools to dig deeper and, most importantly, GET SOMEWHERE! And that's what I find so refreshing: not just touching on the hard heart issues, but also offering you remedies and what to do about it. I came out of this refreshed, encouraged and deepened in my walk with God w/o being hammered by any of the typical "you-fall-short" or "though-shalt-do" feelings. One word of caution, though: this is NOT a book you can/should just skim over! It WILL suck you into discovering more about yourself and God's plan for your life. There were times I just couldn't get past a passage because it resonated with me so strongly that I just felt I'd miss a gem by taking the easy way out. I'm glad I haven't borrowed it from someone but own it since this is SO RICH! I find myself constantly writing notes/revelations into my Kindle version, something I hardly EVER do! I might actually get myself the journal workbook to have my thoughts, revelations and resolutions in one place (which I NEVER did for any other book before!) I think this book, Kindle or not, belongs into every man's toolbox ;)

Most powerful Men's book I've ever read!

Posted by Nick on Oct 27th 2021

This is the 2nd most powerful Men's book I've ever read after the Bible! I can recommend this book to any man who truly wants to know how much he is loved as a beloved son from a Heavenly Father who loves with such extravagance. If churches taught this more men would be free to be who they are called to be, Beloved Sons of Heaven.

    This book changed my life

Posted by Bob Lord on Oct 27th 2021

I read this book with my men’s group and since have attended several retreats. As noted, this book changed my life. I had only a vague idea of the spiritual battle that is waged all around us or the depth of the fortresses I had built around myself over the years to hide from wounds and failures throughout my life. Michael Thompson leads the reader lovingly through who that person is, the spiritual battle being waged and how to bring freedom to one’s heart and in so doing become who we are really meant to be. If one wants his heart back and wants the freedom offered by a relationship with Jesus, this book is a great start to that journey.

Capstone Content to Believing and Living Out of Who You Are!

Posted by Steve Cummings on Oct 27th 2021

I've read dozens of men's books that want to give you "5 Steps to Being . . . " or "7 Ways to . . . " - all helpful but NOTHING like hearing Michael's heart who HAS WALKED THROUGH LIFE LIKE ME and brings the Truth like Thor. He shows us how we must see ourselves and believe we are Beloved Sons and then LIVE out of that identity in the Kingdom. Even though every man needs to read this book, unfortunately they won't. The disoriented man is unaware and his heart is unsettled. But, if YOUR heart resonates with what I'm saying, click the "BUY NOW" button and start reading. Oh - one final note: This book is not to be read slowly and then put back on the shelf. Like a fine meat rub on your ribs - it needs to marinate in your heart as you go through it. Take. Your. Time. Then - scatter some seed and invite other men in your life where you have influence to pick up a copy. BUT - don't sell your fruit - let them pick it.

    Such An Orienting Read

Posted by Richard C. on Oct 27th 2021

I was first introduced to The Heart of a Warrior in 2017 after coming across the YouVersion bible plan. It was a time in my life, when I was starting to lead men into recovering their hearts, after the Lord met me and began a huge work a couple of years prior. After a reading through it a couple of times, and then in the summer of 2018, taking it more intentional and working through the Journaling workbook along side of it, it has continued to open my eyes, not only to what walking as a Beloved Son really means, but more so to the training and orientation that God is continuing to bring me on. As much as I love my church family, there is still something that is not being captured that a man desperately needs. Over these last few years, The Heart of a Warrior has become a continued reorientation tool for me and men that I walk with. Jesus asked me in 2015 if I would follow and trust him into the unknown. Not knowing what that would be like, I still said yes, out of pure faith. This last year, He has continued to walk me into more unknowns and even more challenging times. Things my wife and I never saw coming. It's been a season, where I have been more desperate for God and The Heart of a Warrior has been a great tool in my arsenal to help keep me orientated in the training that is ongoing. God has continued to Father me in more and deeper ways and I don't think I would be as oriented to it, without this book and the ministry that is Zoweh. I'm reminded that the Gospel is all about restoration and that process of restoration continues through the ongoing training, even through the hardest times that will face in life. It has also helped to continue to equip me with the weapons needed to continue my own journey of helping men recover their hearts and seeking deeper union with God, thereby compelling them to lead their own families into more with God.

    An Invitation to More

Posted by James M. on Oct 27th 2021

I’m not sure why that silly joke is stuck in my head. When is a door not a door? When it is ajar. When is a book not a book? When it is an invitation. In The Heart of a Warrior, by Michael Thompson, I found just that … an invitation to discover the life of the oriented, wholehearted Beloved Son of God. Not an easy undertaking but a crucial one. An undertaking made far more difficult while understanding neither the actual enemy nor the rules of engagement. What a revelation to learn that it was not all me, that there was an insidious force standing in opposition. Turns out I had been unknowingly tilting at windmills for years while being constantly assaulted in mind, body and spirit. Getting knocked down, knocked out and getting back up only to repeat the process. Barely surviving, barely living. To paraphrase Animal House - disoriented, naïve and wounded is no way to go through life. The Heart of a Warrior helped me to understand who I was, where I was and my position in the Kingdom. It’s an arduous process but more ground is being taken back every day. This journey is not for the faint of heart. It takes courage to choose the red pill, to pass through the wardrobe, to make your way to Platform 9 ¾, to knock with the expectation that it will be opened to you. If you do take the step you will find Zoweh (Life) within. A realm populated with strong, well oriented men and women, possessing brave and compassionate hearts. There is no keep warm and well fed there. Only come; come be warmed by the fire and share in the choicest fare to nourish body and soul. The “What” is not of a great deal of use without the “How”. The Heart of a Warrior offers both elements thus transforming the invitation into a gateway to a world of more. More life, more love, more freedom. The path to a restored, well oriented heart can be discovered in its pages.

The perfect shot in the arm

Posted by Michael Finfrock on Sep 30th 2021

As often happens - a few years after my extraordinary Wild at Heart Boot Camp experience, the impact was starting to weaken. I was in need of a booster shot. The Heart of a Warrior Encounter with the Zoweh team was the perfect shot in the arm to rekindle that healing fire. Gaining deeper insights and healing, I'm back on track with a fantastic Spirit led band of brothers.
